The Brenton Story began when Brenton Smith founded Brenton Engineering in Carlos, MN, in 1987, with himself as the only employee. Initially he had an idea for a new product, a cable-car lift for the steep banks of the lakeshore. Not longer after, Smith was asked to manufacture a custom packaging machine. Orders for these specialty machines continued to come in, thus setting the tone for the companys future.
